CDAP Advisors play a crucial role in guiding Canadian businesses towards growth and innovation through the Canada Digital Adoption Program grant and BDC.

UPDATE: August, 2024 The Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) is set to close on March 31, 2025. The Stream 2 "Boost Your Business Technology" grant concluded accepting new applications in February 2024, and the Stream 1 "Grow Your Business Online" $2,400 grant will stop accepting new applications after September 30, 2024. Until then, please contact your local service provider to submit your application for Stream 1. If your business is already grant-approved for Stream 2 'Boost Your Business Technology' and in need of a CDAP Advisor to support next steps, contact us to guide you on next steps. Alternatively, if you’re still in need of a Digital Advisor expertise outside of the CDAP program, contact us for further information and guidance. While the CDAP program is unfortunately closing in 2025, there is still tremendous demand from Canadian businesses in need of support and guidance to in areas of Digital Adoption and Digital Transformation.

Become a CDAP Digital Advisor

Accredited or approved CDAP Digital Advisors offer strategic vendor-neutral advice, adhere to CDAP’s Code of Conduct, and work closely with Canadian businesses (SMEs) to create digital adoption plans tailored to their specific goals and need.

What does a CDAP Advisor do?

Strategic Digital Adoption Plan

Approved CDAP Advisors work closely with SMEs to develop a digital adoption plans and strategic execution roadmap tailored to the needs of the client. CDAP digital adoption plans (DAPs) are designed to deliver the 'blue print' for businesses to implement and realize the value; whether its grow revenue, lower operating cost and/or enhance customer experience through technology or solution adoption. All CDAP Advisors DAP's meet the minimum requirements from ISED for a CDAP digital adoption plan.

Vendor-Neutral Advice

As a CDAP Advisor you provide vendor neutral advice to Canadian businesses. The advice given through the digital adoption plan and its technology or solution evaluation and assessment is unbiased and based solely on what’s best fit the SME business. This leads to better outcomes and higher satisfaction, and includes addressing people and process beyond technology to help ensure Clients success in the adoption of new digital solutions or capabilities.

Code of Conduct

CDAP Advisors are required to adhere to CDAP’s Code of Conduct. This ensures that the advisor maintain a high standard of professionalism and ethical behaviour when working with SMEs. As a result, SMEs can trust that they are receiving quality advice and support, and that their interests are being prioritized.

Program Status

The application process for CDAP Advisors in Stream 2: Boost your business technology closed as of June, 2023. ISED is not accepting new applications at this time. However, there are opportunities to still learn more how to become an Advisor if/when CDAP re-opens applications this year, or other ways you can participate.
